Addressing Anti-Semitism: An Invitation from Temple Beth Israel of Jackson

Recently the head of our (Temple Beth Israel of Jackson) religious school became aware that some of our children, in local elementary schools and universities, have either heard anti-Semitic comments or seen anti-Semitic graffiti.
In response to this, he consulted with our rabbi and a local child psychologist as to how to help our children. At their recommendation it has been arranged with the Anti-Defamation League to conduct a no-charge workshop at Temple Beth Israel, in Jackson, on May 21, between 10:30 and 12:30 which is designed for  children and their families to “strengthen children's capacity and build confidence” to deal with antisemitism.

We are  inviting members  of your community and  other western Michigan Jewish communities in order for them to take advantage of this event.
There is to be a session for children AND a separate session for adults. We firmly believe that parents and adult members of Jewish  communities have a role in providing their youth with support in such a difficult issue.
Please view the attached flier from the Anti-Defamation League and RSVP that you will attend. If you have any questions, please contact  one of us or David Frank, religious school director.

Thank you.
